If you’re needing help with paint, it’s easy to find a Resene rep at www.resene.com/meet-the-team.htm.

What do you at Resene?
With a background in interior design and a keen eye for detail I enjoy bringing my clients' visions to life on projects of varying types and scale with bespoke colour schemes and support and technical expertise. As an experienced colour expert, whether you are an interior designer or colour consultant who needs to fill your project with colour or are simply searching for the perfect white, I can help!

My passion for colour and design began in 2006 where I completed NZQA level three, with a strong focus in design, and moved on to study Interior Décor at CPIT in 2011. I have been with Resene for over 10 years, and through my time here I have worked in various roles across Christchurch and Auckland. Starting out as a retail assistant, where I built my technical knowledge of paint and colour, then moving into the role of an in-store colour specialist, creating residential colour schemes, shortly after taking on the position of a Residential Colour Consultant for outbound consults, and now in my current role as the Canterbury Design Advocate.

What is one of your favourite projects using Resene products?
A recent standout for me was a residential project in Auckland. It was a full interior repaint and my client was open to using colour wherever she could, which made for a very fun process and rewarding outcome. My client had purchased her first home, an inner-city apartment and was very excited to make the apartment feel like home and reflect her personal style. She wanted a high impact change, on a budget-friendly scale. This is where paint seemed like the most suitable solution.

We really did have some fun with colour - plain timber vinyl flooring, painted out in Resene Coral Tree - a beautiful soft pink, walls in Resene Wafer - a soft dusky neutral pink, kitchen joinery painted in Resene Terrain - a muted sage, bathroom walls in Resene Eagle - an earthy green and master bedroom walls in Resene Half Dusted Blue.

The dressing room was transformed from an all-white space to Resene Coral Tree on the flooring and a moody shade of Resene Evolution - a deep olive on the walls. My client managed to find the most fabulous sofa and barstools to match in with the coral flooring for a complete tonal look. She was thrilled and felt at home in her new space.

What is your biggest design or product tip?

Trial your colour in the area you are planning to paint with Resene testpots to ensure that the colour looks as intended in the area being painted. Colour can appear different from room to room so it’s important to trial it in the space or on the surface intended for painting - lighting, texture and surround elements can all effect the way you view colour.

Using the recommended Resene paint and accessories is key to achieving the best possible finish. If you’re unsure what you should be using, check in with your local Resene representative, Ask a Resene Paint Expert or Resene ColorShop team.

Colour is personal and an expression of who we are, trust your decisions and have some fun! It is just paint at the end of the day and can easily be changed.

What are your favourite Resene colours? As you can imagine, working with colour every day I am forever discovering new favourite combinations! Currently, I am loving Resene Amaranth, Resene Athena, Resene Summer Rose and Resene Tic Tac Toe! All available in the new The Range Fashion Colours 24 fandeck.

What do you like to do in your spare time? It’s typical to find me out and about on a nature walk or the beach, sipping on a coffee at the market with friends or socialising over dinner and drinks on the weekends. Keeping up with current trends, wandering around homeware and fashion stores is also a regular activity.
