What do you at Resene?

I originally joined Resene in 2011 as an Architectural Specifier Representative which offers a variety of services including assisting clients with colour selection to paint system specification and technical advice for projects of all size and scale.

I have recently been appointed the role of Auckland Architectural Manager.

The main colour used is a custom made colour 'Ferry Building Stone' complemented by windows in Resene Half Spanish White (complex neutral). This colour palette was used on the southern roadside elevation and the entire clock tower as part of the ongoing restoration work to ensure this building continues to be a source of pride in the years to come.

What is one of your favourite projects using Resene products?

Restored heritage buildings such as the Auckland Ferry Building are standouts for me. I love the way this building stands on its own yet is surrounded by commercial buildings and the hustle of Auckland City commuters. The ornate finishes that surround the exterior were coated in Resene AquaShield in the most recent restoration.

Resene AquaShield is one of my favourite exterior products, its beautiful flat mineral finish is perfect for this style of building.

What is your biggest design or product tip?

Be brave and go bold, so many times I have had the conversation “I love this colour but it’s a bit bold and not everyone may like it”

If it makes you happy, do it, you can always repaint later when a new colour piques your interest.

What are your favourite Resene colours? 

I love Resene Green Meets Blue, Resene Baltic Sea, Resene Black White and Resene Element, so much so that you will find all these colours in or outside our own home.

With the ever-changing colour trends it’s difficult to choose just one favourite colour but at the moment I’m really drawn to greens.

What do you like to do in your spare time? 

I am kept reasonably active with two young children so there are many walks to the local parks, playing hot wheels, drawing stick people and if I get my own way, a quick stop at the coffee shop to recharge.

We love visiting the beach when the weather allows although I’m not a huge fan of sand throughout the car at the end of the day.
