Product of the month: Resene Uracryl 404 low sheen

10 Feb 2023

With a unique high performance two component finish, Resene Uracryl 404 low sheen has excellent resistance to abrasion, moisture, petroleum solvents as well as mineral and vegetable oil.

Designed as a long-life low sheen topcoat for use over a wide variety of materials where colour retention is required together with excellent durability and very good chemical resistance, this product is ideal for many substrates such as aluminium, anti-graffiti, concrete/plaster, fibre cement, galvanised steel, G.R.C. panels, repaints and structural steel.

Resene Uracryl 404 dries fast and enables the use of high performance urethanes when spray application is likely to be difficult or undesirable. It also provides a low sheen topcoat over epoxy coatings where a low gloss finish and colour retention is paramount

The most unusual feature of Resene Uracryl 404 is that, unlike most other classes of high performance coating, it looks as good as it protects. The carefully developed combination of aliphatic urethanes and urethane reactive acrylic resins gives excellent durability and colour retention.

Resene Senior Protective Coatings Representative, Andrew Soutter, says the most common product he would specify would be Resene Uracryl 404 Low Sheen.

“This is a good hardwearing low sheen two component urethane for use on a wide variety of substrates. We use it mostly on structural steel, but also on many other substrates,” says Andrew.
