Yes, you could get through this hot summer with a boring old standard-white fan. Or you could go bright and colourful with this vivid rainbow fan, created using Resene testpots.
Leigh Stockton shows us how to create this cool effect.
You will need
- Fan
- Testpots in Resene Dizzy Lizzy, Resene Outrageous, Resene Paris Daisy, Resene Poppy, Resene Pursuit, Resene Seeker and Resene Smitten
- Small brushes
- If your fan is already pieced together, deconstruct it so that you can paint directly onto the blades.
- With a ruler and pencil, measure and mark out six lines in a circle shape around the blades (see video).
- Paint each block with one of the testpots, starting from the bottom in this order: Resene Smitten, Resene Poppy, Resene Pursuit, Resene Outrageous, Resene Paris Daisy, Resene Dizzy Lizzy and Resene Seeker.
- Use a blow dryer to dry each colour before moving on to the next one to avoid the colour mixing.
- Leave to dry, and then piece the fan back together. Your home will be looking and feeling cool for the summer!
