Tresori Motor Lodge gets a Resene makeover

Just south of Christchurch, amongst the endless hills, bays, and hidden bush of Banks Peninsula, you will find a quaint and cosy place to stay. Tresori Motor Lodge, in Akaroa, has recently renovated their whole exterior with the help of Resene paints. 

Owners Thomas and Sherry Baird first took possession of the Tresori Motor Lodge in August of 2019. Resting right next to Akaroa harbour with stunning views for miles, they made the decision to take it on.   

“Part of the sales agreement terms upon takeover meant that we had to oversee the repainting of the complex,” says Thomas. “While it seemed a little daunting, we felt up to the challenge with our keen eye for detail and environmental focus to minimise waste.” 

“We employed a great local painter duo in Akaroa to help complete the job over a few weeks, with the lodge still staying open at the same time. Great care was taken throughout the process with planning and discipline prevailing after all the hard work was completed and signed off.” 

The couple used Resene X-200, an acrylic weathertight paint, great for exteriors with maximum durability in all seasons. They chose two colours, Resene Half Arrowtown for the exterior walls and Resene Ironsand for the roofing.  

The simple yet stunning exterior pulls from the surrounding landscape and harbour, and the two colours, Resene Half Arrowtown and Resene Ironsand, work flawlessly together.  

“We strongly believe the finished product was well worth the initial investment,” says Thomas. “With big thanks to Resene for making the process simple with their rendering programme so we could see how it would look before the painting starts, as well as getting the timing right to enable a long summer cure for the longevity that quality Resene paint provides.” 

They believe there are many more years left in this current colour scheme, and say they will be returning customers to Resene for their next round of landscape composition in the future.
